Directions:
We will be starting at 10 am on both days. If people wish to stay overnight on the Friday and/or Saturday, you can camp on the property or sleep on the floor of the shed or stay in a motel or caravan park in Nagambie. There is a nominal charge of $5 per head if staying at the property. For those staying, there will be a spotlight Saturday evening, weather permitting. A portable toilet will be available.
Travel up Hume Hwy, taking Goulburn Valley Hwy exit just after the bridge over the Goulburn River (approx. 8 km past Seymour exit). Travel north approx. 15 km along Goulburn Valley Hwy. Take the Nagambie exit and travel a further 5 km into Nagambie township. Turn left onto the Heathcote-Nagambie Rd. (United Service Station is on the corner).
Travel approx. 15 km west along Heathcote-Nagambie Rd to the Mt. Black Rd turnoff on the RHS. This dirt track heads north into the forest. It is only signposted by an inscription on a treated pine pole located next to the track entrance. It is approx 200m past the signposted Murdoch Lane, but is easily missed if travelling at speed, so slow down once you see the Murdoch Lane sign!
Travel up the Mt Black Rd for approx 1.6 km until you see a gate on the RHS with the numbers 174 on the post. The gate also has "Land For Wildlife" and "Trust for Nature" signs on it. This is the entrance to the property. The house is located a further 2 km down the "driveway". Travel time from GPO Melbourne to property entrance approx. 2 hours.
